Microsoft today announced details of the next major update to the Xbox 360 system interface, due on August 11.
The update will herald the launch of Games on Demand, allowing gamers to download full Xbox 360 titles straight to their consoles. Microsoft are promising that new titles will be added every week, and that the service will launch with 30 titles available. These first titles will include Mass Effect, BioShock, Assassin’s Creed, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Also launching will be the Avatar Marketplace, alongside support for modifying Netflix Instant Queues and “party” watching.
Not included in August’s update are features such as Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm, which are expected to arrive later this year.
