Ubisoft Obtains Film Effects Studio Responsible for 300, Sin City

Ubisoft announced today its acquisition of Hybride Technologies, the fruitful visual effects studio best known for its work in the blockbuster films, “300″ and “Sin City.”

Ubisoft plans to work closely with Hybride to develop brands that will captivate both moviegoers and gamers alike. Ubisoft hopes the addition of the top-notch cinema effects studio will beef up the graphical quality of future games, perhaps enough to rival film visuals.

It is a partnership that Ubisoft CEO Yannis Mallat called, “a true first for the industry.

“Ubisoft and Hybride share the same vision of entertainment convergence and a common passion for innovation and creativity,” he continued. “The exceptional quality of the team at Hybride and the expertise of our Ubisoft teams will allow us to create one of the best 3D animation studios in the entertainment industry.”

Hybride will not devote all of its resources to Ubisoft, and will continue to work with external, film-related partners, allowing the visual effects firm to push for the proliferation of Ubisoft’s intellectual properties in the movie industry.

So we ask: Who would play Rayman in a potential film adaptation? Armless and legless actors are few and far between…
