Crytek Officially Announce PC-Exclusive Crysis Warhead

After unveiling yesterday a teaser splash page at the official Crysis site, Crytek announced the development of Crysis Warhead today, a PC-exclusive follow-up to last year’s critically-acclaimed tropical shooter.
“One of the key principles of our studio is to always raise the bar,” said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli.
“With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive, free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis.”
In Warhead, players will don the nanosuit of Delta Force Sergeant ‘Psycho’ Sykes, one of the original’s most memorable characters. Interestingly enough, the storyline in Warhead will run concurrent to the events of Crysis; you’ll be cutting your way through the jungle just as Nomad experiences his own adventure elsewhere on the island.
Warhead is said to include new weapons, vehicles, and added multiplayer functionality.
The game, in development at Crytek’s Budapest studio, is set to drop this fall. More details promised this summer, perhaps out of Los Angeles during E3 in July.
