According to a recent post on id Software’s official website, development for Doom 4 is now officially underway. The company is currently looking to fill a number of staff positions for the title.

“DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth,” said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software. “It’s critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.”

The careers page specifically mentions that they are looking for those experienced with PC, XBOX 360, and PS3 development. Doom 4 will most assuredly be developed on the recently demonstrated Tech 5 engine, which specializes in cross-platform development.

id Software is currently gearing up for their annual QuakeCon event, where you can most likely expect a demonstration of some sorts regarding the company’s current projects, so keep your eyes open for new information sometime between July 31 and August 3.
