Smash Bros. Brawl Continues Smashing Records

In what can best described as a surprise to absolutely nobody, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has broken all kinds of Wii records, shifting some 1.4 millions units, 874k of that on its March 9th release date alone. Looks like Smash Bros. is doing what even the venerable Mario couldn’t.

For those living in a cave the last decade or so, the Smash Bros. series throws all manner of Nintendo mascots together to see who really can dish it out. New to Brawl, however, is the inclusion of Solid Snake of Metal Gear Solid fame and Sonic the Hedgehog, who needs about as much of an introduction as Mario does. The game is also packed with so much content that a casual Brawler could easily play this game for two years without unlocking everything.

Now that Brawl is out the door, the Wii Fit torch has been lit for its May 19th launch. Hardcore Nintendo gaming has received its messiah, now it’s time for the casuals.
