New TF2 Maps Confirmed for Consoles, 360 Patch Released

Eurogamer recently got the chance to talk with Valve’s VP of marketing Doug Lombardi regarding new TF2 content making it’s way onto consoles.
Owners of the PC version of the game were recently treated to two brand new maps, Badlands and CTF_Well. Upcoming content will include class-specific achievements, unlockable weapons, and the Goldrush map, which adds a new gameplay mode.
“The maps will come to the console versions,” Lombardi told Eurogamer. “There’s a bit of work that makes sense for us to bundle them up and release them as packs.”
When asked if the new maps will remain free for console gamers: “Oh, for free, definitely, as much as we can. You know, we don’t have full say over that, but we have some say over how that works.”
A new patch for the Xbox 360 version of TF2 has also been released. Players will be automatically prompted to update when they sign into Xbox Live within the game. No word on a Playstation 3 patch yet, but with new content on the way, you can probably expect it sometime soon.
