Standalone Guitar Hero III Controllers Available Again from RedOctane Store
The standalone Guitar Hero III controllers are once again listed on Red Octane’s online store.
The PlayStation 3 Les Paul guitar is shown to be ‘In Stock,’ whereas the Wii Les Paul is listed as both being ‘In Stock’ and having an ETA of ‘March 2008.’
What that means is anyone’s guess, however both products can now be added to the shopping cart.
Both guitars are being offered at $69.99 USD each.
The Xbox 360 Les Paul is not yet listed.
In case Activision decides to get cute and pull the pages again, here are some screen captures.
We broke a similar story back in January when all three standalone guitars were first listed on RedOctane’s store with the prices of $69 for the PS3 and 360 guitars, with the Wii’s going for $59. The release date was listed as March.
The products were quickly pulled from the online store after we ran our story and Activision went out of it’s way to discredit us, claiming our information was “not correct.”
Now that the product listings are back, we can see who was actually being truthful. According to my calendar, it is, in fact, March. The PlayStation 3 guitars are indeed $69. The only piece of information that was “inaccurate” was the price of the Wii controller: it’s selling for $10 more than we initially reported.
Finally, you have to admire Activision for readying both the PS3 and Wii guitars before the Xbox 360 ones. Because clearly, the game sold best on those two platforms…
