Sit In On Warren Spector’s Game Design Classes With Video Recordings
Renowned game developer Warren Spector (Wing Commander, Deus Ex, Thief) lead a “Master Class in Video Games and Digital Media” last semester at the University of Texas in Austin. If you’re so inclined, you can read the course syllabus (PDF).
There is now a sizable collection of videos on the course’s website, all freely available for download, that feature lectures from not only Spector himself, but also other well-known industry figures, like Richard Garriott, Harvey Smith, and Tim Willits.
The videos may be a bit lengthy (at least two hours each) but are nonetheless a fascinating look at the development process. A must-watch for anyone with even a passing interest in the industry.
