Street Fighter IV in Japanese Arcades this Summer

By Skyler Sutter on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 2:32 PM EST

Capcom first debuted Street Fighter IV just a few months ago, so it comes as a great surprise that they’ve announced the game will be in Japanese arcades this summer.

GameSpot is reporting that sales leaflets handed out by Capcom at last week’s AOU Amusement Expo state that those who order the SFIV game board in conjunction with the Taito VIEWLIX cabinet will receive their order sometime in late July. Operators that order the game board only will receive it by mid August.

While this doesn’t confirm we’ll be seeing a console release of Street Fighter IV this year, it does indicate that the game is much further along in development than we initially thought. Here’s hoping for a 2008 release.
