Next Guitar Hero Game Is 100% Aerosmith

By Skyler Sutter on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 12:00 PM EST

Activision recently confirmed that Aerosmith will be the first band to get a Guitar Hero game all to themselves. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is the first of three Guitar Hero sequels that Activision confirmed were in development a number of weeks ago.

The story mode will be of typical Guitar Hero fare, as you follow the career of Aerosmith from their first gig to rock legend status. The game will feature not only a collection of classic Aerosmith tracks, but tracks from other artists that were an inspiration to, or have performed with Aerosmith.

“We’ve put a lot of ideas into the game so that fans can have fun interacting with our music, getting inside our body of work and learning about the band’s history,” said guitarist Joe Perry.

To celebrate the announcement, Guitar Hero III owners will be able to download Aerosmith’s “Dream On” at no charge from February 16 until February 18. It will be available for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 owners.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is currently in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2 with Neversoft is developing the PS3 and 360 versions, Vicarious Visions the Wii version, and Budcat the PS2 version. Look for the game on store shelves this June.
