Microsoft’s has just cut the price of its external HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360. Originally $179.99 USD, the player now retails for $129.99.
The deal is effective for consumers in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Buyers can also take advantage of the five free HD-DVD deal (External PDF) at time of purchase.
It’s no secret that Blu-ray is making serious inroads in the high-def DVD market and this price-cut is undoubtedly at least partially a result of that fact.
But could it also mean that a new Xbox 360 SKU with built-in HD-DVD player is on the way?
