Opoona Coming in March

Wii RPG fans have been getting all kinds of good news as of late. Well, here’s some more to wet your whistle. KOEI is set to release Opoona, which they are dubbing a “lifestyle role-playing game”, on March 25th. March is going to be a wallet draining month it looks like.

For those who don’t know, Opoona is an Action RPG that can be controlled with one hand. The story picks up with Opoona’s family on an interplanetary vacation. Unfortunately, things aren’t going so well. They are involved in a mysterious accident and crash land on the planet Landroll. Opoona is separated from his parents and siblings and must make a life for himself while searching them out. Players will work to earn money and fight against the Dark Rogues, creatures that are threatening the planet’s inhabitants.

The game is developed by ArtePiazza, who had a hand in crafting four installments of the Dragon Quest series of RPGs. The game’s stunning art is the work of Art Director Shintaro Majima and Composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, who contributed to the evocative Final Fantasy XII soundtrack, is on tap for the music. What more can RPG fans ask for?
