Sony Raising the Bar… Er… Prices of Games

Playstation 3 First Party Games Get Price Raise

Seems Sony has found a way to quickly recoup money lost by PS3 hardware: jack up the game prices. Screen Play is reporting that when the 40 GB model dropped on the unwashed European and Australian masses, the price of Sony’s first party games went up; a few pounds in Britain and AUD$10 in Australia. Though this sucks for our European and Australian friends, the games are still in line with third party offerings, which SCE Australia boss Michael Ephraim is quick to point out, and one can’t fault Sony for wanting to make back a little money on their best console to date.
