Deadline Games Announce Faith and a .45

By Alex Petraglia on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 8:00 AM EST

Danish studio Deadline Games, responsible for Total Overdose and its follow-up Chili Con Carnage, announced today the development of its newest IP, the strikingly-titled Faith and a .45.

The game stars Luke and Ruby, two outlaw lovers battling a corrupt and vicious oilman in Depression-era America. Faith and a .45 is described as “an intense and atmospheric shooter, that features a heavy focus on characters, co-operative gameplay, road movie storytelling, and cinematic aesthetics.”

“Since we at Deadline have our roots in movie production, we value original stories, settings and characters very highly,” said CEO Chris Mottes. “Our previous games are testament to this, but we believe Faith is going to take our creative might to a whole new level.”

The team did not cite specific systems the game will be released on, but instead opted for “next-gen platforms.” A publisher was not named, nor a release target announced.

Faith and a .45 makes its public debut at GDC in San Fransisco a month from now, and we hope to bring you more on the game from the event.

The single bit of concept art the team released alongside the announcement is pretty awesome, so we’re including a hi-res version for your viewing pleasure.
