2.5 Million Downloadable Rock Band Tracks Sold

Rock Band performers (sounds better than ‘players,’ no?) have purchased and downloaded a mind-blowing 2.5 million tracks since the game’s release on November 20. That’s an average of almost 45,000 tracks a day.
From a statement released today by MTV Networks President, Van Toffler:
“Our goal with Rock Band was to create an entirely new way for people to interact with the music they love. The incredible response to the downloadable content we’ve released to date motivates us even more to establish this platform as a way for people to discover new, up and coming artists through the game - in addition to delivering great game play experiences set to the music of mega-artists.”
The Metallica Pack is currently the most downloaded offering, followed by three-songs pack from The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, and Black Sabbath.
The top individually sold tracks include Foreigner’s “Juke Box Hero,” Creedence’s “Fortunate Son,” and Weezer’s “Buddy Holly.”
If gamers are upset by the high-price of downloadable content, they sure haven’t been showing it.
