Infinity Ward’s Community Relations Manager Rob Bowling, who goes by the nickname ‘fourzerotwo’ online, laments the rampant piracy of Call of Duty 4 for the PC in his most recent personal blog entry.

Bowling claims that the number of gamers playing Call of Duty 4 multiplayer on the PC is “fantastic,” but continues that a staggering percentage of those participants are “playing on stolen copies of the game on stolen / cracked CD keys of pirated copies.”

While Bowling does not provide an actual percentage of users playing with pirated copies, he states that he plans to update the entry with that information if he is permitted to do so.

Additionally, Bowling does not specifically state what copy-protection or key checking methods the game employs, nor does he mention any steps Infinity Ward has taken to rectify the situation.
