Nintendo’s balance board and fitness software has surpassed the one million mark, according to Japanese business source, Nikkei. The site reports that the software reached a million units sold on January 6th, just over a month of sales.
Wii Fit was first unveiled to the public by Shigeru Miyamoto at last year’s E3. The package consists of the Wii Balance Board and software, designed to simulate exercise with over 40 minigames and activities. The game is part of Nintendo’s plan to expand beyond the traditional game market and reach an audience that might not normally play video games.
Wii Fit is expected to hit North American shelves early this year.
