1up has some exclusive new screenshots of the upcoming game in legendary fighting series Soul Calibur, and you may be surprised at what you see: Darth Vader and Master Yoda fighting against series mainstays like Taki and Cassandra. Yes, that’s right, and they’re completely playable. The site even hints at the possibility of more Star Wars characters making their way into the game.

This is the first time Star Wars characters have appeared in a fighting game since LucasArt’s awful Masters of Teras Kasi, released for the PSOne in 1997. It’s not the first absurd cameo in a Soul Calibur game, however. Soul Calibur II offered playable versions of The Legend of Zelda’s Link, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, and Tekken’s Heihachi.

Soul Calibur IV is currently slated for release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 sometime in the Spring of this year.
