Take-Two Announces Formation of 2K Marin
Take-Two Interactive announced today the formation of its newest studio, 2K Marin, located about 30 miles north of San Francisco in Novato, California.
Take-Two’s other 2K Games subsidiaries include 2K Boston/Australia (formerly Irrational Games) and Firaxis, which it acquired in 2005.
The new team will be responsible for developing both original intellectual property and co-developing games with other 2K studios located across four continents.
Said Chris Hartmann, president of 2K Games: “We’re focused on continuing to bring new brands and cutting-edge gameplay to market with the creation of the 2K Marin studio. 2K Marin will build upon our success in creating and leveraging AAA franchises.”
It is believed that the newly formed 2K Marin is being staffed by former 2K Boston employees, who were responsible for this year’s award-winning BioShock.
