Sony will be releasing a new PlayStation 3 update sometime tomorrow. UPDATE: That was quicker than expected. As of 10 PM EST on Monday, December 17, the update is now live. Connect to PSN to download it.
Version 2.10 will provide the following changes:
- Support for DivX and WMV playback
- Support for Blu-Ray 1.1, which allows for full Blu-Ray disc functionality
- A “voice changer” which can change the tone of any audio captured from an input device
Noticeably absent is a unified player-to-player chat system. Sony assures fans that it is on the way, however.
No word yet if this update “fixes” the dreaded kitten bug.
