Mass Effect Moves One Million Copies Across the Galaxy

Between Halo 3 selling over five million copies and now Mass Effect moving a little over one million copies worldwide in about three weeks, it’s going to be a very happy holiday for the Xbox 360 team.

Speaking with GameDaily, Corporate VP of Global Marketing for the Xbox 360 Jeff Bell revealed that BioWare’s sci-fi RPG has completely blown away analysts expectations since it’s release on November 20.

As publisher for Mass Effect, Microsoft Games Studios exclusively holds the publishing rights to this first title. But keeping in mind that Mass Effect was announced as a trilogy, Electronic Art’s purchase of BioWare a few months back complicates matters. Microsoft is currently in negotiations with BioWare and EA to secure the IP for the franchise.
