Valve Releases An Avalanche of Team Fortress 2 Stats

If there’s two things we love in this world, it’s infoporn and Team Fortress 2. Now if only there was a way to combine those two…
What’s that, Valve? You say you have a new page online that displays an overabundance of Team Fortress 2 player statistics in easy-to-read bar graphs and heat maps? Why yes, that does sounds like something we’d be interested in! How did you know?
Not surprisingly, Scout is the most played class, followed closely by Engineer and Soldier. Snipers get the most points, but Heavies earn the most kills. Engineers live the longest, but that’s probably because they’re all of hiding in the Intelligence Room of their respective base in 2fort.
Most interesting is the map balancing: it’s not as good as you might think. dustbowl is overwhelmingly stacked in favor of Team Red, as is gravelpit, but not to the same extent. The other four favor Team Blu, but only slightly.
Valve reassures us that it’s collecting and analyzing the data to “ultimately build better products and experiences” and not just taking a page out of the NSA’s playbook. As long as it means a better gameplay experience, we don’t mind a little spying.
So to speak.
