Standalone Wireless Guitar Hero III Controllers Coming Early 2008

Did you know that Guitar Hero III, unquestionably the highest-numbered Guitar Hero game yet, comes bundled with a brand-new type of guitar controller, the Gibson Les Paul, for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii? It’s true! And not only is it true, it’s the best Guitar Hero guitar yet, featuring added weight, a cooler design, and colored fret buttons that provided an even greater level of tactile bliss.
But while the game disc itself has been sold separately since the game’s release in late October, the guitars have not been made available for standalone purchase.
Until now, that is! Activision announced today that standalone Guitar Hero III guitars will be hitting store selves in ‘early 2008.’ While they didn’t disclose the cost, it’s safe to expect somewhere between $40 and $60 USD. A tad pricey, we agree.
But then again, how can you put a price tag on rock stardom?
