2K Boston, Australia Now Hiring

2K Job

The team behind what many are calling the best gaming experience of 2007 is officially looking for fresh blood for its upcoming AAA title.

Irrational 2K Boston and 2K Australia, the studio(s) that brought BioShock unto the masses, have new job listings online for the positions of Producer, Tools Programmer, Senior AI Programmer, Senior Console Programmer, and Storyboard Artist.

Producer definitely sounds the most enjoyable, with one of the key responsibilities listed as “collaborate with and manage the time, focus, and priorities of Creative Director, Ken Levine.” I’d imagine you’d even get to move in with Ken, staying up late and building pillow forts together and eating freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and…

Sorry, I was having a moment there.

If Producer doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can look at the jobs like Storyboard Artist, whose primary job is to deal with “people who can explain themselves only with vague hand gestures, sound-effects, and occasionally interpretive dances and will ask you to invent characters, machines, funny hats, and attack robots in your head, draw them for approval and revision and then make finished paintings for our modeling team to work from.”

Actually, that sounds pretty good, too!

Game industry job listings are fun, because they often reveal particular details about a studio’s upcoming titles. This however, is not one of those instances. It’s probable that the teams are working on additional BioShock content, or the unnamed and unofficially announced upcoming title that Levine and team have hinted at previously.

Regardless, if you think you’re up for the challenge, head over to the 2K Boston jobs page or the one for 2K Australia for all the requisite details. Good luck, brave aspiring game developer!
