K-Mart Lets Mass Effect Slip Ten Days Early

BioWare’s highly anticipated sci-fi RPG Mass Effect may not officially hit store shelves for another ten days, but copies are already being spotted in the wilds of the internets.
A lucky Shacker named only ‘Crw22′ got his copy from K-Mart in Crofton, Maryland this evening. You can read the thread that spawned the discussion or see the full-size photographic evidence.
A few members of NeoGAF also reported scoring copies.
BioShock, released in August for the Xbox 360, was another immensely popular title recently sold prior to its official release: Toys R’ Us came under a great deal of scrutiny (not by fans, mind you) by letting the game slip out a week early.
It may be worth taking a run over to your local K-Mart/Target/Wal-Mart/Toys R’ Us/etc. tomorrow morning if you’re interested in picking up the game. If you do not see a copy out on the floor, just ask the most competent-looking salesperson for a bit of assistance.
As always with premature releases, your mileage may vary. But honestly, what else were you going to do after stumbling out of bed on Saturday morning?
We’ll update this post if any more reports surface and after doing some investigation of our own in the morning. If you have any success stories to share, kindly leave a comment below.
