Call of Duty 4 Dropping Onto STEAM November 12
By Alex Petraglia on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 9:00 AM EST

Although Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is currently available for the PC (and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), the game will be coming to STEAM next Monday, November 12. Those holding out for the digital version are able to pre-purchase now, with preloading set to begin in the next several days.
We can only surmise that the delay is due to an agreement between developer Infinity Ward and the game’s publisher, Activision. Boxed copies of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, also published by Activision, went on sale October 2, with the STEAM release on October 9.

The extra week for the Steam/Direct2Drive release can best be described as “inane.”
