Director of “The Cell” to Helm Condemned Movie

condemnedYes, you read that right; they’re making a movie based on the 2005 Xbox 360 and PC game Condemned: Criminal Origins. No, you can’t get you a part in it…I don’t care how good a “Homeless Druggie with Large Pipe” you would make!

For those who have never experienced the grittiness that is Condemned, you play as Agent Ethan Thomas, a member of the serial crimes division who can “see” more than your average detective. Armed with only his instincts and what weapons he can find in the environment, Thomas begins the game in pursuit of an escaped serial killer with only your tech support agent Rosa to guide you via your cell (no pun intended). Let’s just hope that director Tarsem Singh leaves J-Lo out of this one, who doesn’t even deserve screen time on the other end of a cell phone pix message. Although, Vince Vaughn would make an awesome Serial Killer X…

So far Hollywood hasn’t had much luck with making movies based on violent video games. Let’s just hope we don’t have another “Doom: The Movie” on our hands.
