Xbox 360 HD-DVD Drive Price-Drop, Includes Five Free DVD’s

To spur sales of its own HD-DVD Drive for the Xbox 360 and give the high-def spec a much needed boost, Microsoft announced at Comic-Con 2007 today that it will lower the price of the player from $199 to $179 USD starting August 1, 2007, and will add five free HD-DVD movies for anyone purchasing an Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player between August 1 and September 30. Consumers can choose five HD-DVD titles for free from a selection of 15 popular titles through a mail-in offer; a $140 USD retail value.
The movie choices include the following:
- Apollo 13
- The Chronicles of Riddick
- Seabiscuit
- Casablanca
- Constantine
- Dukes of Hazzard
- Four Brothers
- Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
- Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
- The Rundown
- Blazing Saddles
- U2: Rattle and Hum
- U-571
- The Perfect Storm
- We Were Soldiers
