Guitar Hero II XBOX 360 Goes ‘Green’; Release on April 3

Weekend rockstars, rejoice! Activision sends word today that RedOctane’s breakout hit Guitar Hero II will be going to 11 on the XBOX 360 come April 3rd. The set list includes 70 “finger-melting fret burners,†including ten tracks that are XBOX 360 exclusive, like my personal favorite, “Possum Kingdom†by Toadies.
In addition, the 360 version boasts remodeled characters and venues, unlockable guitars, and a variety of gameplay modes. Thanks to XBOX Live, headbangers can also look forward to an all-new online leaderboard plus downloadable content, including a stream of new tracks over time.
“With all the new content and features we’re adding for our initial launch onto next-gen systems, Guitar Hero II on the Xbox 360 is definitely going to rock harder than ever,†said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane. Sadly, online coop or versus multiplayer is not an option due to latency issues; you’ll need to jam with your band in person.
Pre-orders can be had now through RedOctane’s online store and include a free Guitar Hero gig bag for those who plan to go on tour.
